Breakfast at the Coopersburg Diner

I suppose this is a post which would be more fitting at Valley Breakfast, but with it being my favorite meal of the day, I thought I’d make a breakfast-related post here today.

Yesterday BD and I went to Valentine’s Day Breakfast at the Coopersburg Diner.  I’ve visited the C-burg diner with my friend Kyle (of THE ORACLE fame) on a few occasions, and have never been let down.  As far as LV diners go, this is one of my favorites.  They offer “Billys Downtown” quality meals at “Trivet” prices.  It was renovated not too long ago, and the interior is bright, clean, airy, very large, and very comfortable.  They have a salad bar that actually makes me want to eat from the salad bar, the food is fresh, and the service is decidedly friendly.

One quick note: There is almost ALWAYS a wait for breakfast or lunch on the weekends, so plan accordingly.  Its no wonder, though, because this diner is top notch!  Below is the greeting which is printed on the top of their menu, words that they take seriously, as evidenced by their food.

Here are some things I enjoy about the breakfast menu/service in particular:

  • You can order a single pancake or slice of french toast as a side order
  • You can get fresh fruit toppings for your pancakes, french toast, or waffles
  • A hot cinnamon bun, sliced in half, and sandwiched around vanilla ice cream
  • You can expect a carafe of hot coffee to be set at your table, no flagging down the waiter for a refill, and because the waiters don’t have to constantly be walking around to give refills, they are able to provide better service.

That said, yesterday, we were there for the Country Omelet (decidedly NOT vegan).

I have to say the name “omelet” is not really appropriate here.  Its really more like a scramble.  In any event, this is three eggs scrambled together with homefries and onions, then (optional) sprinkled with the cheese of your choice which melts down on top of it.  Why is this better than just getting an omelet with homefries & onions on the side?  I don’t know, it just is.  Pictured above is my “country omelet” with swiss cheese and rye toast.  MMMM.

We stopped there for lunch a few years ago, but never breakfast. The cinnamon bun sounds scrumptious, and any diner that leaves a carafe at the table has my vote! Another breakfast spot to add to my ever-growing list! I’m glad you had a nice Valentine’s Day!

    Great blog, Capri!

Took Mrs C there yesterday for lunch. I had a bowl of homemade Italian wedding soup and a broiled crabcake sandwich. WoW! I’ve driven by it on my way to work in Chalfont every day for over three years, and never stopped in.

    That’s going to change!

Mrs C and a cheeseburger and bacon club sandwich, and a cup of Italian Wedding as well. Neither one of us left anything.

Great meal, great service, I liked getting a carafe of coffee. Thanks for the tip!

How I wrote “And” instead of “had” after Mrs C is beyond me. And I call myself a writer! LOL!
